The mayor of Foča, Milan Vukadinović, says that most of the preparations for the World Rafting Championship, which will be held in Foča on Tara river, have been completed and that everyone is looking forward to the start of the competition.
– Banja Luka, then Foča, will be where the world will look during the World Championship. We are aware of that and we all are doing our best to make everything ready. The Organizing Committee meets almost every day and we deal with all segments of the organization. Our goal is for everyone who comes to this competition to feel great in the coming days – Vukadinović emphasized.
Everyone in the Organizing Committee is aware of the challenges that awaits them.
– The biggest challenge could be the large number of participants, which we will have to accommodate in a short period of time and poor infrastructure on the road Foča – Šćepan Polje. However, I believe that there will be no problems – Vukadinović says.
According to him, athletes and participants will be the biggest promoters of Foča and the tourist potentials during and after the championship.
– Adrenaline and adventurers are the first synonyms for Tara and rafting. The Tara river itself is the pearl of Europe and is protected by UNESCO. Our wish is for all participants to feel the charms of recreational tourism, the beauty of the National Park Perućica , says Vukadinović and adds that it is planned to organize concerts of the groups “Paranoid” and “Vesele 80-e” in Ušće for the closing ceremony.
